Use these charts to select the proper piping size for refrigerant lines to remote air-cooled condenser.
Please Note : these charts are for R-22 refrigerant only.
LIQUID LINES
Please Note : this chart is for R-22 refrigerant only.
- Step 1. Assume an equivalent feet of pipe. Usually estimate the run and multiply by 1.5 to account for elbows, ect.
- Step 2. Using estimated equivalent feet from Step 1, enter chart A and pick line size required. Pick the closest next larger size when your point falls between two line sizes.
- Step 3. Using the line size selected above, calculate actual equivalent feet using table 1.
- Step 4. Compare actual equivalent feet with estimated equivalent feet. If actual is less than or equal to estimated, your selection is good. If actual is more than estimated, enter chart A to be sure it is still a good selection. Reselect if necessary.
HOT GAS LINE
Please Note : this chart is for R-22 refrigerant only.
- Step 1. Assume an equivalent feet of pipe. Usually estimate the run and multiply by 1.5 to account for elbows, ect.
- Step 2. Using estimated equivalent feet from Step 1, enter chart B and pick line size required. Pick the closest next larger size when your point falls between two line sizes.
- Step 3. Using the line size selected above, calculate the actual equivalent feet using table 1.
- Step 4.Compare actual equivalent feet with estimated equivalent feet. If actual is less than or equal to estimated, your selection is good. If actual is more than estimated, enter chart B to be sure it is still a good selection. Reselect if necessary.
